Who is Richie Hawtin, if not a monumental colossus of all things techno, he is truly the pinnacle of techno culture and i am proud to say i’ve seen him live (for the n-th time) recently on Movement 2014 Detroit. It was, of course, truly incredible. he was closing the Red Bull Music Academy Radio stage on the second day, so can’t be bigger or better, this is from the 3 days of Memorial Day weekend, happens every year, by the way, check out Movement 2014 Website and don’t tell me you haven’t noticed they already are selling tickets for 2015th Movement in Detroit, this could be the best time to purchase these pricey attraction passes, cause the closer we’ll be getting towards the designated timeframe of the event (in 2015 it will be May 23rd, 24th and 25th). Actually i’ve just paid more attention to the message and realized, – it’s already been the second wave of tickets, and second wave’s been bought out almost instantly, so… watch out…
Richie Hawtin exclusive photos from Movement 2014, Detroit
Richie has put out a certainly interesting set at the Movement Festival, it was intense, full of new tracks and old remixes of the great floor busters of the past. Plastikman knows how to entertain, and does it in the best traditions of “Midwest House Music” (lets say, Midwest is being in Chicago or Detroit, the rest of the living areas are pretty much irrelevant). This was worth it, seeing this set made me think it was all worth it, it was like reaching for the start and at the same time being grounded and touching the earth with your toes.. hard to describe, let’s hope Paxahau eventually release his set too. would be amazing.
Richie Hawtin Boiler Room Live
check out how it happens where Hawtin is playing. this is the tight setting of Boiler Room (Amsterdam), usually Richie doesn’t allow anyone nearby, dunno how he’s survived this one.. =)
this is how it went, Seth Troxler is amazing, and his set was really seriously put together, check it out, it was recently released by Paxahau and is available for streaming on Paxahau’s Soundcloud page:
i was there, i took those photos, and i really enjoyed the set Seth played, laid back, funky tech house, with a smile and spin here and there, he was home and doing the thing that he loves most, with a tight-packed crowd of maybe 5-10 thousands of people (i don’t know really how to estimate such sizes, but sere the photos for yourselves).. this was majestic. he started with Beat That Bitch by Johnny Dangerous (with Whiplash 4 98 on the mix), epic track. then it was Paul Woolford, DDMS (Deadbeat & DeWalta & Mike Shannon & The Mole) with their Makers (DeWalta Mix). Jamie Anderson, Prince Dred & Bunny Sigler, Ane Brun, Spirit Catcher, Rvde, Clarian … crazy, Seth was invoking the right to drop your jaw with every new track, superb mixing and never ending energy. i’d always recommend everyone to check out his work.
Seth Troxler Photos from Movement 2014, RBMA Stage, Detroit, USA
here are the best of the many, photos of Seth Troxler moving the crowds at Movement 2014 in Detroit..
Seth Troxler Soundcloud, twitter, facebook, and other useful links:
Born in Germany and raised in Detroit. She grew up playing classical piano and signing, there was even a some saxophone involved in her musical education. All this classical background waters have not been touched by the dance music until she was 16-17, when she first heard a DJ play. She thought of it quite weird, but she loved it so much that started collecting records, taught herself how to play, how to mix, how to match the beat and get the mood going. She started dabbling with sound a bit, and was lucky to get into groups and find mentors to guide her through the musical avenues. She’d always be the only girl on the crew, so she’s never been lacking attention, always others would be ready to help out and guide. “While it is sometimes not nice to have that much attention just underlining the fact that you’re a woman, – she says, – it is useful and helpful still”, (since men even these days strongly consider this a male profession), “but it was nice to have all these ‘big brothers’ around you, always helping, showing things, telling me to try this or that, advising to try ableton and stuff.. Now I am just getting into the hardware part of it, but originally my classical piano background was very helpful, allowed me to jump right into production”… her piano and sax helped for easy understanding and building the layout of her sound.
here are some photos i’ve made while at Detroit’s Movement 2014.
Now she’s well into the Detroit scene, and world EDM scene, it’s undeground branch rather than electro-useless-nuwave that’s going so popular on all these summer festivals, Hardwells and all, no, Gabi has her own sound and direction. She is good doing this combo of tech house, deep house and techno house, but she won’t be bounded by some ceraint genre throughout the set, she goes wild and drops minimal tech with deep techno of chicago style early years, Gabi does a good job there, staying true to herself and her sound. She released several tracks on such great labels as Bronzai Records, Spain, Clear-Cut Records, Germany & Mintec Musik, Detroit. Although she says she’s been involved with the Movement festival for the past 2 years, she’s never had a chance to play there yet, until this year, when she did a 2 hour set opener for the Made in Detroit Stage., played deep tech and techno, hard ending, just sublime set, it is the one below, definitely press play!!

yes, the marvelous Electric Daisy Carnival is coming, it’s grand and grander part, the Las Vegas Event 2014, it’ll be huge and amazing, all the top DJs are going to be there, all the cutest ravers and craziest candy licking eyelid flipping witty outfitted kids. me, i am not one for candy bracelets and masks (which are getting more popular now), neither i like to put on a Borgore-like fur-hat in 90-degree F (35C) weather, when all the thoughts are about how amazing is this DJ and how much water i have left in my bottle…. and so i chose the simple, yet the elegant way of wearing EDC Fan Art T-shirts. all they display is the inverted logo of the EDC. one can wear these at any of the multiple locations EDC is held, they are universal.
flock print is when they have the colored stuff printed with special pieces of fabric, that are forever fused into the t-shirt, thus they do not break or crack or fall off or fade, they are for real!! check out these 2 designs offered, simple and elegant, they are both flock print, and of course colors can be changed on either one, for both t-shirt and the print. to the left is my personal favorite combination for this t-shirt, – yellow logo on
and here we have another amazing novelty – a Glow in the Dark EDC Fan Art T-Shirt – a marvelous idea and a total eye catcher. how does it work? any bright light from projectors, photo cameras, home light bulbs, sun, of course, the best source – all these things and light producing enigmas – they all charge the image on the t-shirt, charge
the paint, the die or whatnot, and this now is flex print which is different from flock above, this is more rubbery like feeling to the print, opposed to fabric-like substance used before. this is different, but it also produces much different effect. if you’re looking for EDC Outfit Ideas and are not ready to wear candy but still want to show your love for Summer Festivals, this one is truly for you!! or or me, cause i am that guy.
do now worry about the quality and the way it works, this EDC Glow-in-the-Dark shirt might not look much, but it does glow.. i was surprised at first, thought it was ruined, it didn’t glow… then i charged it, accidentally… omg, it’s amazing. i have one and am going to use it!! =) ps. hope you’re loving the boobies – the girls down at EDC are as wild as at the Mardi Gras, i tell you!! =)
How about it? The Martinez Brothers started young and are headlining some stages on festivals all over the world. With a great kick from Dennis Ferrer, they really conquered their spot in hearts of many fans. but first, a little off topic…
…with this article i am starting a series of kinda-reports on Movement 2014 in Detroit and how it all was so much fun. yes, despite the constant dry mouth caused by too much backstage free redbull, i’ve had an amazing time, made tons of high quality close up photos and, generally speaking, smoked lots of weed.. i liked it there alot… but had to prematurely leave, 3rd day was too much for me, i am a 30+ man, who is not used anymore to all this partying, so i bailed out and took an early leave on sunday after all was over. third day wouldn’t be a piece a cake for me, i realized back then, my body was aching… but let’s forget about me, just remember, keep looking in here, we are planning to publish lots of great material.. my trip to Movement was thanks to Floor To The Four and their insistence on seeing my unpleasant persona along to Detroit.. thanks, guys!!
So how about these Martinez Bros? big age difference, and the youngest one has the gut to talk to Dennis Ferrer, but these days with facebook and the likes it’s so easy to contact your favorite DJs.. no promise on their reply, but you can try… and so they are now taking part in big festivals and headlining many club nights. I;ve hear their set, it was quite fantastic, played well, proportioned light transitions coupled with great DJ Skills, Chris and Steve Martinez are those usual suspect from the street of New York, born in Bronx, heavily influenced by their surroundings which goes into their music – lots of Latin rhythms, great almost funky house beats, hard and moving tracks. these guys know how to make the crowd dance.
lets check out some of my favorite photos and hd wallpapers from The Martinez Brothers performance at Movement 2014
so here we have it, The Martinez bros put up a great performance, are great showmen, they love their music and doing it for fun. headz up and will be coming by if i ever am next to their performance!!
booom, here comes the.. booom…. ready or not, but Ultrafest 2014 is taking off 1 week from now, and if you have not yet prepared for it and haven’t secured a ticket for yourself and one for your girl or your boyfriend, or wife, as it is in my case, or husband, or whatever person or group of people you go to raves with.. and yes, get ready, this is going to be epic. in this article we discuss the last day of Ultra Music Festival, day 3 on Sunday the 30th of March, 2014.
